Timtone Blowfish Electric archtop Consignment

2003 Timtone Blowfish Guitar.
From the Owner
Custom-order build by Tim Deibert in Grand Forks, BC, Canada.
Sitka spruce top with mahogany back and sides.
Mahogany neck with ebony fretboard. The script at the twelfth fret apparently means, “the
journey”.
What I know of the history of this guitar is as follows. The original owner received the guitar
in 2003 and then sold it a few years later. I bought it from Folkway Music in October 2012. By
that Nme the original LSR tuners had been replaced with black Gotoh 510s. In 2021, a crack
appeared in the ebony bridge that was professionally repaired in 2022-2023. During these
repairs it was necessary to replace the original Kent Armstrong neck and Ghost bridge
pickups. A new Ghost saddle pickup system was installed and the floating, neck pickup was
replaced with a Pete Biltoft, Vintage Vibe, Charlie Christian pickup. Pete Biltoft retired from
making pickups at the end of 2024. This particular pickup is rare and highly prized. It is also
very quiet with little or no single coil hum. The two knobs on the upper bout are volume
controls: one for each pickup. I had Myhre’s Music put a clear pickguard on the guitar
surface a few years ago. The guitar has had its frets leveled, been set up and the structural
integrity of the bridge and top have been checked by a professional luthier in January 2025.
In the years that I have owned the guitar, the top has remained unchanged apart from the
crack in the bridge.
The guitar comes with two cases. The original case is a flight case from Caisse Design in
Québec, QC. It was described as being “bullet proof” by Folkway Music. It is very heavy and
is only useful for storage or travel. The dimensions of the guitar will not fit in most standard
electric guitar cases such as one that might fit a Gibson ES 335. I was able to find a Fusion
Urban bass guitar gig bag that works well. These list for about $400. It is a good, well padded
gig bag that has received excellent reviews.
Included is all of the original written material from Tim Deibert that I received from Folkway
Music. I have also included a rough diagram of the bracing structure of the top.
